Libyan Glass also known as Golden Tektite is speculated to have formed from meteor impact some 29 millions years ago. Pieces of it have been found sprinkled around the Sahara Desert where the border of Libya and Egypt come together.

Libyan Glass works in the lower chakras, bringing energy and life into sluggish wheels of light, helping to push them into proper gear. It’s a great choice for manifesting and attracting abundance. It promotes greater self-esteem and self-confidence to accomplish personal ascension missions. It will help you remember some of the talents buried deep within you that have been forgotten over years of conforming to the demands of modern society.

This is a great companion for those of us that are very sensitive to energy. It absorbs chaotic energy to help stabilize your aura and environment. It’s revered for being very protective, helping to remove psychic hooks that have been placed on us either intentionally or unintentionally. Pshycic hooks can come in many forms, and many times are less deliberate than they sound, and can be very draining to the soul. Some can be left on us from loved ones, co-workers, family members, strangers, past memories etc. Undoing these pshycic hooks helps us reclaim our power and bring delightful energy back into our bodies.

A fascinating fact about Libyan Glass is that when King Tut was found and examined, his chest was decorated with a scarab ( a symbol of renewal and rebirth) carved from a piece of this astonishing mineral. The Egyptians are one of the earths greatest mysteries, they poured meaning into everything they touched, we will spend lifetimes trying to interpret and understand these sacred meanings. Libyan glass lived amongst them and was chosen by a highly revered ancient Egyptian Pharoah for joining him in the afterlife which makes owning a piece of it even more special.

Scientists are still learning about this mysterous mineral and it has sparked a lot of curiosity over the decades. Libyan glass is almost purely silica which is a mineral that is formed though immense heat. Many pieces of the glass contain a second mineral called Zircon which can transform itself under extreme environmental changes like heat and pressure. A very small amount of them carry trace clues of the exsistence of Reidite which can transform itself into Zircon and is associated with meteorite impacts. Zircon metamorphosizes from Reidite in high heat, cloaking its former and appearing as purely Zircon. The ability for this ancient finding to change form is extremely fascinating and shows we’ve only scratched the surface to finding out more about its origin.
